Our khidmat runs across the spiritual calendar and the year round. Below are the khidmat we carry out, grouped by the part of community life they serve.
Khidmat through the sacred seasons and occasions of the year.
Large-scale khidmat over the ten days of Moharram: mawaid niyaz serving across multiple halls, Sabeel-e-Hussain serving salawaat daily, mic room and relay management, ITS scanning, and iftari and tea on Ashura. Members also pick up and drop the bedridden during maktal, post shop-close notices, and serve at Ashara in Dubai and across the wider Madras ohbat.
Held in Chennai for more than 31 years, with niyaz and ehtefalat programmes and Al Musabaqat al Ilmiyah quiz programmes across the mohallas.
Through the month of Ramadan: kaffarat collection and distribution, iftari and tea service, niyaz and kawa serving, coffee khidmat, and sihori packing and distribution.

Distribution and drives that meet practical needs at home and across the city.
Carrying meals from the Faiz al-Mawaid al-Burhaniyah community kitchen to homes across the mohallas.
Street cleanliness drives and food distribution for the wider city through the Hunger Squad.

Interest-free benevolent loan collection every Friday from shops across 22 streets and areas of Chennai, towards the Mohammedi and Husaini schemes.

The Chennai Jamaat and Vajihi Mohalla bands, now merged, have performed at Hazrat Aaliyah in Moqib-e-Noorani and at the Jamea tus Saifiyah inauguration in Marol.
The Chennai team were champions at the Inter-Jamiat cricket tournament in Secunderabad.
